A 3-day Vacation in Scotland
A 3-day Vacation in Scotland
Dear Travel Agony Aunt, I’m planning for a 6 days visit to UK, with my family (3 of us altogether) some time in the month of September this year. I’m thinking of spending 3 days visiting places in London and the remaining three days in Scotland. Would you please give advice on the places to visit  Read More →
Apartments abroad and Resort taxis ceased trading
I have just heard that accommodation only company Apartments abroad has today ceased trading. The company sold accommodation all over the world including popular tourist destinations in Europe and the US. They do not appear to be ABTA members, I thought they were though. Independent traveller protection issues I am not sure at this point how many...
Is customer data unsafe when companies go bust
Is customer data unsafe when companies go bust
Tonight I was reading an article on Tnooz , asking if PricewaterhouseCoopers can sell FlyGlobespan customer data? Privacy poliicy exempt in administration When a company...

The noisiest cities you have stayed in
I love the hustle and bustle of cities; in fact most of my recent travels have been to cities like London, Berlin and Venice. In the past I have stayed in hotels, slap bang, in the city centre. Cities like Sydney and Paris spring to mind. Early morning wake up call This week I have been in Manchester and for me this is one of the noisiest cities...
Worst holiday destinations in the world
Worst holiday destinations in the world
The other day I was reading an article about the seaside town of Portrush in Northern Ireland. It was recently rated the worst UK holiday destination. Okay, so I was only ten when I went there on holiday but I think that they are worse British holiday spots than Portrush. Uninviting Pwhelli in North Wales One that stands out to me is Pwhelli in...
Worst airport security experiences
Worst airport security experiences
One of my least favourite parts of flying is queuing and going through airport security. It never seems organised. Airport security has been in the news a lot recently and with the introduction of full body scanners in British airports, sometime in 2010, I don’t think it’ll get any better. Baggage searched at Schiphol airport This year I will...
