Frustrations with travel consumers rant
Frustrations with travel consumers rant
Regular readers will know I love a rant at the travel industry but today I am going to start by ranting at travel consumers! Consumer’s not purchasing insurance...
Common travel scams while on holiday
Common travel scams while on holiday

In 2003, I visited Kuala Lumpur and I was approached by a man as I walked down the street. Vulnerable solo traveller He chatted to me and then invited me for a drink...
The telltale signs of a fake travel website
The telltale signs of a fake travel website
Millions of consumers plan their own short-break by booking flights and accommodation separately and as I wrote recently consumers need to keep a look out for fake websites. My favourite travel blogs of 2009
My favourite travel blogs of 2009
It has been an interesting year for blogs and blogging: there was some stupid talk that blogs are dying, loads of debates on blogger trips and the quality of sponsored blog posts. Share your worst airline flight delays
The nasty weather in the UK through Christmas and the New Year meant many travellers plans were disrupted, with flights delayed or cancelled. There’s not a great deal you can do about the weather but I wish our airports and public transport in general could cope with the bad weather; it is winter after all. Airline tricks and unhelpful customer...
Five travel issues sent from consumers
Five travel issues sent from consumers
The ‘Ask Mr Rants’ is proving to be useful for consumers. Every month I will be writing about the types of travel issues sent from consumers. Then, hopefully consumers can learn from other’s experiences and the industry, if it wants to really improve the consumer experience, can add their input. Here’s a selection of travel issues sent...

Misleading airport names cause passenger confusion
One of the news reports on the local news on Friday was about the future of Robin Hood airport, and how that it is seeing a reduction in the number of passengers. On the road: Travel fees rise, airlines improve comfort
DOLLAR WATCH: Surprise! Travel Fees Keep Rising Frontier Airlines has been busy on the fee front. It has raised its first checked bag fee to $20 and its second checked bag fee to $30. It also lowered some of its ticket-change fees. The supposedly fee-free carrier, Southwest Airlines, has invented an optional new charge. For $10, you can get so-called...
