Florida Keys Summer Lightning Storm...www.severeweathervideo.com ©2003 Scott mcpartland This footage was shot on day four of my lightning photography trip to the Florida Keys back in August 2003. I flew out of NYC bound for Ft Lauderdale, FL with my good friend Peter Ventre. We planned to spend a week photographing thunderstorms in South Florida and the Florida Keys. We met up with our good chaser friends Jim Leonard and Jim Edds, and on this particular day were treated to some vivid lightning in the middle Keys. It was definitely a fun trip! I would later spend time in Connecticut where I would work on my instrument/commercial flying ... flying in the snow and ice, and doing confined area ops atop snow covered mountains (or very, very big hills :) - My first flight instructor (seen in the video) was Joe Fragione of London Aviation, FL.
